Eight Force Law Office (the "Firm") deeply recognizes the importance of the personal information it handles in the course of its work, and handles personal information appropriately in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the "APPI"), the Attorney Act, the Basic Rules on the Duties of Practicing Attorneys, other relevant laws and regulations, and this Policy.
The Firm acquires personal information by lawful and fair means, within the scope necessary to achieve its purposes of use. The information acquired includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, and other information you provide in connection with a consultation or matter. In addition, when you use this website, the Firm may acquire information necessary for operating and improving the site, such as access logs, cookies, and device information.
The Firm uses the personal information it acquires within the scope of the following purposes. Except where permitted by law or where the purpose of use is otherwise notified or made public, the Firm will not use the information for purposes other than these.
The Firm takes necessary and appropriate measures to manage the security of the personal data it handles, including measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of such data. The Firm also exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over the attorneys and staff who handle personal data, and where it outsources part of its work, it exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractor as well.
Except in the following cases, the Firm will not provide personal data to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the individual.
If the individual or their representative requests notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties of the personal data held by the Firm, the Firm will respond in accordance with the APPI after confirming the identity of the individual. The Firm may charge a fee for such requests to the extent permitted by law.

In accordance with the Attorney Act, the rules of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, and other laws and regulations, the Firm may verify the identity of a client when newly accepting an engagement, in order to prevent money laundering and similar conduct.
